GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn.--  Crystal Manik from Xcel Energy stopped by this morning to tell us about an efficiency program designed to help customers in the Twin Cities save energy and money.

Customers can call the "Home Energy Squad" where an expert comes to your home to assess your home's efficiency and help you make changes all in about two hours. Prices range from $50-$80 dollars. Homeowners choose from a variety of efficiency measures that the expert installs, like compact fluorescent light bulbs, programmable thermostats, kitchen or bathroom aerators and low-flow showerheads.

When they are done your home will be more efficient, more comfortable, and you will save up to $120 per year on your energy bill. Home Energy Squad labor is completely free. You pay only for the cost of the materials.
