Phil Byrne, volunteer for the The Ronald M. Hubbs Center Lifelong Learning, is one of the 2009-2010 Eleven Who Care award recipients. This morning, we met Phil and Hubb's Center coordinator Ruth Rodriguez to find out more about their work in our community.
The Ronald M. Hubbs Center for Lifelong Learning (Adult Basic Education) is a program of the Saint Paul Public Schools' Community Education Department. Educational services are available to adults who want to improve their basic skills, earn a GED, prepare for employment or post-secondary education, or learn English.
Classes are free and instruction is individualized and available through classes, learning labs, and tutoring. Online and distance learning is also available so that adults can study in a fashion that suits their interests and learning styles.
For more information, to register for classes, or to become a volunteer, please contact the Hubbs Center at 651-290-4728 or go to the website at: www.hubbs.spps.org.
